We love coming to Athena when we visit the area because the food is excellent and delicious. I tried the gyro sandwich and it was so big that I saved half for the next day. Flavors showcase the homemade food. We dined inside and their service is great and friendly. There's nothing better than warm pita and hummus to start out the meal, and then the rest continues to delight! Highly recommend trying it because you will become a regular!

I am so thankful for Athena Gyro. In February, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. My cardiologist told me I needed to immediately lose weight! I started a life style change. I copied the Mediterranean way of cooking from Athena Gyro. I also ate their Greek salad at least 2-3 times a week. I shared what I was doing with the team there and they were so supportive and kind. The food is delicious, and the owners are delightful. I can not say enough good. Just go.

One of my favorite spots to grab authentic Mediterranean food, not just in the valley, but in Southern California! You can't go wrong with ordering anything here. They also offer a selection of wine to pair with your meal. Highly recommend the Baklava for dessert. The owners are also very sweet!

Only place in desert that has decent middle eastern food. Thankfully no stupid french fries in the wraps here.

Hadn't been here in a while, went back today and it's as amazing as I remember! Soooo SO GOOD! I've tried it all but today I had the gyro sandwich plate with a California Greek salad. You HAVE TO try it with FIRE FETA, add some to your gyro and it makes it so good!! I also had the appetizer plater with their refreshing home made lemonade. I was in heaven!! The place is lovely too. Bright & colorful decor it feels like a little get away to Greece. Oh yeah and you can't forget the deserts! The baklava is so delicious!!. If you like soup, both of their soups are AMAZING but the Avgolemono is heavenly!!! I won't go this long without going back for more amazing Greek food!!!

The best Mediterranean restaurant in the neighbourhood I ordered only lentils soup it was so tasty and comes with fresh and hot pita bread ( needed quick snack )) Don't forget to grab your baklava for to go and enjoy later I am definitely coming back for Chicken KABAB

One of our favorite Palm Desert restaurants. Great menu and friendly staff. Hope they weren't harmed by the recent fire in the strip mall behind them!

I was super surprised by the quality and sheer quantity of food. It's a little pricey but a single plate can easily be made into two, if not three meals. The gyro was super tender, juicy, and flavorful with some crispy bits. It was our first time having moussaka, but the topping was super creamy, a little sweet, and the meat/potatoes/eggplant was super hearty. We also got the calamari which was on the smaller side but light, crispy, and pretty tender. The sides were also yummy. The staff was incredibly attentive and kind. Someone was always checking up on us to make sure we were doing ok.

Yes, the 5 star reviews are fully deserved. Best meal we've had in our two weeks in Palm Desert. Nicely decorated restaurant with good service and delicious food. The app platter is huge and was plenty for the four of us. Everyone liked their entree and we all had leftovers. I had the gyro platter. Tons of meat, some juicy and some crisper, a nice combo. My wife's lamb burgers/sliders were good. The other couple had a huge lamb shank and the gyro sandwich. I forgot to take photos of the baklava and Turkish coffees. The bill says cashier was Julia; if that is our waitress's name she was very nice. As was the owner who I believe said his name is Al. Will be back every time we visit the area.
